Recipes - Pretzel "Treat"
|
This recipe is courtesy of a very close friend from the Maritimes - gone West! - thanks!
A treat formula (too easy to be a recipe) passed on from my baking friend,
Everyone who has tried it has liked it. Especially good for making with small sized helpers.
Ingredients:
Mini pretzels
Rolo caramel candies
Pecan halves or pieces
Directions:
Place mini pretzels on a parchment or foil lined baking sheet. Place close
together, OK if they touch. "Utz" makes tiny round pretzels that are perfect
for this, but the "regular" ones work, too. Top each pretzel with a Rolo
caramel candy. Place baking sheet in a 250-degree oven for 3-5 minutes,
until candies are just soft. Place a pecan half or large piece on each
caramel and press down slightly. Allow to cool (betcha can't wait). They
taste just like the eltrut candies (if you have these in your area). Make
plenty, they disappear very quickly! |
HINT: Buy the rolls of the candy and not the bags--it can be a bit much to take the
foil wrapping off a lot of the candies. Good job for the kids, though.
